General Info

The development follows these rules:

  • the campaign's course is not to allow to oppose essentially against the book's description

  • the movie may be inspiration for anything, but does not need to inspire anything

  • custom ideas which expand the book but don't really oppose against it (ideas which are thinkable, but just not mentioned), are welcome at any time to make gameplay more intresting

In general, the quality of development should be very high. The cinematics are one thing we focus on especially and they will be realized with big effort and detailed scenery.

Spells overview of the Fellowship of the Ring

The spells are in development these days. Some of the spells are not very original yet as you will see and more or less token directly from Warcraft. We thank for any constructive comment for new spells or changes to the ones presented here; post your ideas here in the forum.

The level division probably will be the same as in normal melee maps, that means 3 normal spells of each 3 levels and one single level ultimate spell.

At the moment, the following spells are planned for the Fellowship's members:

Frodo - last updated: 12/1/07

  • Throw stone Show details

    The Hobbit throws a stone on an enemy unit, which will do little damage and stun it shortly.
  • Find enemies Show details

    Frodo uses his magic sword Sting to find enemy units in his environment. As the level increases, more information about the enemies will be revealed and cooldown and mana effort decrease.
  • Hobbit size (passive) Show details

    The Hobbit learns to take advantage of his small size in combat. Same effect as evade.
  • Inner Fire of the Ring (ultimate) Show details

    Frodo turns his growing obsession of the Ring into unlimited violence at the battle ground. Highly increased attack damage, but Frodo takes constant damage over time himself.

  • Elven rope Show details

    Sam inherited a special rope from his grandfather. It was told that it was made by forest elves. This rope has the special property that it will surround any enemy if it is thrown the right way. This ability's effect is equal to the ability ensnare; effect length will rise and required mana will sink with increasing level.
  • Healing herbs Show details

    Sam is very educated concerning the use of healing herbs. The effect is like in "rejuvination".
  • Hobbit size (passive) Show details

    The Hobbit learns to take advantage of his small size in combat. Same effect as evade.
  • Story from the Shire (ultimate) Show details

    Sam tells a jaunty story from his homeland, the Shire which gives new strength and courage to the friends around him. Regenerates life points for all friendly units around him.

  • Throw stone Show details

    The Hobbit throws a stone on an enemy unit, which will do little damage and stun it shortly.
  • Pocket Picking Show details

    Merry sneaks to an enemy unit. If this unit holds any items, these can be snitched. Alternatively, you can also take life or mana from them.
  • Hobbit size (passive) Show details

    The Hobbit learns to take advantage of his small size in combat. Same effect as evade.
  • Ambush (ultimate) Show details

    Merry uses his small size so professionally, that enemys lose sight of him and he becomes invisible for some time. When he breaks this invisibility with an attack, he deals a massive amount of damage and all enemies around him run in fear of getting ambushed, too. Merry will do double damage to each of these frightened targets for some time.

  • Fireworks Show details

    Pippin's may take advantage on the battlefield from his liking for firecrackers: He shoots a rocket, which will cause damage in the target area and release some smaller rockets which each will cause additional damage near there.
  • Strong Drink Show details

    Pippin throws a beer mug into his enemies' face. Since these won't be as hard drinking as he himself, their move and attack speed will be decreased significantly.
  • Hobbit size (passive) Show details

    The Hobbit learns to take advantage of his small size in combat. Same effect as evade.
  • Foolhardiness (ultimate) Show details

    Pippin loses all his reason and batters his enemies without any consideration; attack speed increased massively.

Legolas - last updated: 12/1/07

  • Far View Show details

    Legolas uses his extraordinary eyes to view very far into a special direction. Reveals a conic area of the map.
  • Assassin Show details

    His skill with bow and arrow will prove really deadly here, when Legolas shoots his poisoned arrow over a long distance. Big initial and damage over time and reduced movement speed for the target.
  • Multiple Shot (auto-cast) Show details

    Legolas shoots multiple arrows on enemies who are standing more or less in the same direction.
  • Arrow Hail (ultimate) Show details

    Legolas shoots a magical arrow which splits in the air and this way comes down on units in the target area and does damage to them.

Gimli - last updated: 12/18/07

  • Jump Strike Show details

    Gimli jumps into the air and comes down so hardly that the enemys around him are knocked back, take damage and get slowed.
  • Combat Rage (auto-cast) Show details

    Whenever he deals damage, Gimli goes deeper on rage against his enemies, increasing his damage on them with every hit.
  • Throw Axe Show details

    Gimli throws a special throwing axe, to do damage to the target and stun it. This skill does not have a cooldown, but Gimli has to repick his axe before he can use it again. To do this, you have to move him near to it and he will pick it up automatically.
  • "For Moria!" (ultimate) Show details

    Taunts all units around Gimli to attack him. During this ability's effect's duration, Gimli returns much of the damage any melee attacker does to him, and the more damage he gets, the more he will do with his own attacks.

Gandalf - last updated: 12/18/07

  • Blind Show details

    Gandalf blinds his enemies in a direction by a strong light and their movement speed will slow down and they will have a chance to miss their attacks.
  • Arcane Disarment Show details

    Gandalf heats the weapons of the enemies surrounding him so they take damage over time and their attack rate is slowed down strongly.
  • Magical Barricade Show details

    Creates a magical dome at the target area which enemies cannot enter and reduces all damage done to friendly units in it.
  • Flame Of Anor (ultimate) Show details

    Gandalf shoots a beam of fire at an enemy unit, which will be cut from its environment completely by the flame storm around it and take much damage constantly. The flame storm grows the longer it exists and does damage to all enemy units around ist. Further, all units which get in contact with the source beam of the storm take damage, too.

  • Crush Show details

    Aragorn does a very hart hit that does area damage.
  • Art Of Combat (passive) Show details

    Aragorn has been trained so well in sword fighting that he has a chance to do additional damage with each strike or to evade an enemy attack.
  • Call Of The Heir Show details

    Aragorn reminds the friendly heroes around him with a special call, that he is the heir of Gondor, what will give additional strength and agility o them.
  • Whirlwind (ultimate) Show details

    Aragorn whirls his sword with such a speed that all enemy units close to him take massive damage.

Boromir - last updated: 12/18/07

  • Skull Crush (auto-cast) Show details

    Boromir swings his shield, shattering the skulls of enemies in front of him, stunning them and dealing damage.
  • Art Of Combat (passive) Show details

    Boromir has been trained so well in sword fighting that he has a chance to do additional damage with each strike or to evade an enemy attack.
  • Horn Of Gondor Show details

    If this horn sounds, all enemies around Boromir get scared because they know that powerful support for him may arrive soon. Reduces armor and attack rate of all enemy units near to Boromir and some soldiers of Gondor are created near to Boromir to fight for him.
  • Last Stand (ultimate) Show details

    Boromir goes into a frenzy, increasing his damage and attack speed. If he should die while under the effect of Last Stand, he will be revived a moment later.
